John Scott has been in Abilene for all his life. He has always had an ear for music. When he was a kid he had a little tape recorder that his mom and dad gave him for Christmas one year. He used that tape recorder and microphone and did, for those who know, impressions of Johnny Carson. He always wanted to be a d.j at a very early age. But, he really never thought he would end up being one.

John always had had a ear for music. Most people think John is just an old hippy. Actually he is an old cowboy. He grew up in the country and raised all kinds of crap growing up; from chickens to pigeons and on and and on.

He loves rock ballads. He favorite artist are Ozzy, Def Leppard, Dio, Whitesnake, Ratt to Led Zep. So, basically he likes most everything.

The best concert John has ever been to was a Rush concert back in the late 80's. He still to this day says there is not a concert yet that has come close to beating it.

While his mom taught him right from wrong in his life. His dad was a mechanic and taught John how to work on cars and trucks at a very early age..John pulled his first motor out of a car by himself at the age of 4. So, mechanics was definitely in his blood. John worked on cars for 15+ years and was service manager for many automotive shops throughout town. John did this for years until he met the engineer of a radio station at the age of 16.That engineer told him that help was needed at a station. The rest is history from there. John still works on cars on the side. But, the microphone and music were always his passion.

John has worked at numerous radio stations in town for 20+ years. KNTS/News and Sports Talk 1470am, Fox 102.7, Q-100, West 102 and filled in on many more stations in the Big Country. He currently runs the morning show on Power 103 and does the afternoons on the Bear..

John actually is a VERY SHY guy unless he has a microphone in his face... then lookout. He usually gives everybody a hard time, in a good way, with many pranks throughout each month. Anybody who knows John knows that he "ALWAYS" says what he thinks. No matter really what it is. People he works with usually will get him, if they need something said to someone, to say what needs to be said.  He HATES mornings and is very much a night owl and has been all his life. He lives off three to 4 hours of sleep a night and his addiction keeps him awake during the day. What is the "addiction" you might ask?  Well, anybody who knows John will know what that is. It's Dr Pepper. THAT IS ALL HE DRINKS!!!!!!! You will never see John without one.
